Does ManyChat have an MCP server? What works with Claude and ChatGPT

Short answer

No official ManyChat MCP

As of October 2026, ManyChat doesn't offer an official MCP server or a Claude or ChatGPT connector. Third-party wrappers can manage subscribers and tags or send an existing flow, but they can't create comment-keyword automations, because ManyChat's API doesn't allow it.

For Instagram comment-to-DM

The alternative that does it: CommentKeyword

Tell Claude the keyword and what to send, and it sets up the whole route: keyword, public reply, DM and an optional AI agent. CommentKeyword runs it through Meta's official Instagram API, on the Free plan too.

Works today in Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Cursor, Windsurf and Codex. A ChatGPT connector is planned.

What CommentKeyword does: the comment-to-DM route, with AI

If you're looking for a ManyChat MCP to build Instagram comment automations, this is the job you'd want it for. CommentKeyword does it end to end, and your AI assistant sets it up.

  1. 1.Keyword

    Someone comments the word you picked, such as PLAN or GUIDE, on a post or Reel. It can be your next post, set up before you publish.

  2. 2.Public reply

    CommentKeyword answers the comment with one of your reply variants, such as "Sent! Check your DMs πŸ“©". Optional.

  3. 3.DM

    It sends one of your DM variants as a private reply to the comment, with your link and optional click tracking.

  4. 4.AI agent (optional)

    When the person writes back, a Live AI agent can answer questions, qualify the lead or collect an email. Paid plans.

Instagram only, and focused on comment-to-DM: no WhatsApp, Messenger, TikTok or email, and no visual multi-channel flow builder.

One message in Claude, keyword ready for the next Reel

You don't need the post's ID. The next_post target attaches the automation to the next post or Reel you publish, so you can set it up while the video is still in the edit.

Every automation messages real people, so Claude shows you the keyword, the DM and the target, and waits for your OK before it creates or activates anything.

Example in Claude Code

You:I'm posting a Reel tomorrow about my 5-day meal plan. Anyone who comments PLAN should get the PDF: https://example.com/plan. Add a public reply too.

list_keywords Β· search: PLAN β†’ no existing automation

Claude:Here's what I'll set up:

  • Keyword: PLAN (whole word, any case)
  • Posts: your next post or Reel
  • DM: "Here's your 5-day plan, {{namefirst}} πŸ‘‰ https://example.com/plan" (+2 wording variants)
  • Public reply: "Sent! Check your DMs πŸ“©"
  • Link click tracking: on

Create it?

You:Yes

create_keyword Β· target: next_post

Claude:Done. PLAN is waiting for your next post. After you publish, comment PLAN from another account to test it.

Claude, ChatGPT and other AI tools

Where you can use CommentKeyword today, as of October 2026.

Claude Code and Claude Desktop

Install the Claude Code plugin (MCP server plus the comment-to-DM Skill), or add the MCP server to Claude Desktop. Claude creates, re-targets and pauses automations for you.

claude.ai in the browser

Connects only to remote MCP servers by URL, and ours runs locally today. Upload the comment-to-DM Skill to plan the CTA and the DM, then create the automation in the dashboard.

ChatGPT

There's no CommentKeyword connector in ChatGPT yet: ChatGPT connects to apps through remote MCP servers, and ours is planned, with no date yet. Today, Codex, OpenAI's coding agent that you sign in to with your ChatGPT account, runs the CommentKeyword MCP server.

Cursor, Windsurf, n8n, Make or your own code

Cursor and Windsurf run the MCP server too. Anything that can send an HTTP request can use the REST API, which is included on every plan.

Set it up in a few minutes

You need a CommentKeyword account (Free works), a connected Instagram professional account (Business or Creator) and an API token from Settings β†’ API with keywords:read, keywords:write and agents:read.

Claude Code: plugin (MCP server + Skill)

/plugin marketplace add commentkeyword/agent-toolkit
/plugin install commentkeyword@commentkeyword

Claude Code: MCP server only

claude mcp add --transport stdio --env COMMENTKEYWORD_API_TOKEN=YOUR_TOKEN commentkeyword -- npx -y github:commentkeyword/agent-toolkit#v0.2.0

Claude Desktop, Cursor, Windsurf: MCP config

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "commentkeyword": {
      "command": "npx",
      "args": ["-y", "github:commentkeyword/agent-toolkit#v0.2.0"],
      "env": { "COMMENTKEYWORD_API_TOKEN": "YOUR_TOKEN" }
    }
  }
}

The server runs on your computer with npx, so it needs Node.js 18 or later. The toolkit is on GitHub. Setup for every app, Codex included, is on the Instagram MCP server page.

What the MCP tools do

ToolWhat it does
create_keywordCreates an automation. target is next_post, all_posts or specific_posts. Takes up to 10 DM variants, up to 10 public-reply variants, link tracking, and an existing Live AI agent to attach (paid plans).
update_keywordChanges any field. Re-arm it for the next upload with target: next_post, or pause it with isActive: false.
list_keywordsLists automations, so Claude can spot a keyword that already exists.
get_keywordReads one automation and shows whether the next post was caught (nextPostStatus).
delete_keywordDeletes an automation. Asks for confirmation when an AI agent is attached.
list_agentsLists the AI agents set up in your dashboard, so one can take over the chat after the first DM. Agents are created in the dashboard, not through the API.

Prefer the API?

The same actions are available as a REST API on every plan, Free included. Call it from n8n, Make or your own code. See the comment-to-DM API and the API docs.

curl -s -X POST https://commentkeyword.com/api/keywords   -H "Authorization: Bearer $COMMENTKEYWORD_API_TOKEN"   -H "Content-Type: application/json"   -d '{

What people usually mean by ManyChat MCP

MCP (Model Context Protocol) is the standard that lets AI assistants such as Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor call tools in other apps. A ManyChat MCP would let you ask Claude to create a comment automation for your next Reel and have it appear in ManyChat. In practice, three different things get mixed up:

What you might be looking forDoes it exist for ManyChat? (October 2026)
An official ManyChat MCP server or Claude/ChatGPT connector, so your assistant can work in your ManyChat accountNo official one. Third-party wrappers exist, with limits (below).
ManyChat calling ChatGPT or Claude inside a flow, so an AI writes replies to your contactsYes. That's ManyChat's own AI and integrations. It runs inside ManyChat, not in your assistant.
An AI assistant that builds your automations (keywords, comment triggers, DMs) from a chatNot through ManyChat's API. ManyChat's in-app AI can help draft flows inside its own editor.

What ManyChat's API can and can't do for an AI agent

ManyChat has a public API, and any MCP server for ManyChat, official or not, can only do what that API allows. As of October 2026, ManyChat's published API reference (labelled beta) looks like this:

What it covers

  • Contacts: find, create and update subscribers.
  • Tags, custom fields and bot fields: add, remove and set them.
  • Sending: send content to a subscriber, or fire a flow that already exists (sendFlow).
  • Reading: list flows and growth tools (read-only).

What it doesn't include

  • No endpoint creates, edits or deletes flows.
  • No endpoint creates keyword triggers or Instagram comment automations. Those are built in ManyChat's visual editor.
  • No endpoint attaches a post or Reel to an automation.

ManyChat's API is only on paid plans. Their help center lists it on Pro, while their 2026 plan guide puts it under Advanced, so check your plan before you build on it.

So an agent connected to ManyChat can tag people, update their fields, message them and start flows you've already built. It can't set up a new comment-to-DM automation for you.

Third-party ManyChat MCP servers and connectors

Several tools wrap ManyChat's API as MCP tools. None of them is run or endorsed by ManyChat:

  • Hosted connectors: Zapier MCP, Pipedream, Activepieces, Boost.space and others offer ManyChat actions that you can call from Claude Desktop, Cursor or other MCP clients.
  • Community servers on GitHub: a dozen or so manychat-mcp projects. Most are very new and lightly used.
JobThird-party ManyChat MCP
Find a contact, add or remove a tag, set a custom fieldYes
Send a message or trigger an existing flow for one contactYes
List your flowsYes (read-only)
Create a keyword or comment-trigger automationNo: ManyChat's API doesn't allow it
Point an automation at a new post or ReelNo
Edit the DM text inside a flowNo

If you use n8n, Zapier or Make with ManyChat, the same limit applies: they call the same API.

ManyChat users have asked for more on ManyChat's own community forum, in the threads "ManyChat API for the AI Agent Era" (March 2026) and "We need MCPs!" (September 2026). As of October 2026, neither has an official reply.

ManyChat's own AI: Claude and ChatGPT inside your flows

When people talk about a ManyChat Claude or ChatGPT integration, they usually mean features that run inside ManyChat:

  • AI steps and add-ons let a flow generate replies, recognise intent or answer from a knowledge base.
  • Integrations with OpenAI and Anthropic let a flow send a prompt to ChatGPT or Claude using your own API key and use the answer in the conversation.
  • AI flow-building help inside ManyChat's web editor can draft a flow from a description.

They're useful if you want AI to talk to your contacts inside ManyChat. They're not an MCP or a Claude connector: you can't open Claude or ChatGPT and ask it to build or change your ManyChat automations. Check ManyChat's help center for the current plans and pricing of these features.

When ManyChat is still the right tool

CommentKeyword doesn't replace everything ManyChat does. Stay with ManyChat, or use both, if you need:

  • Several channels in one place: WhatsApp, Messenger, TikTok, SMS or email alongside Instagram.
  • Large visual flows with many branches, conditions and integrations.
  • ManyChat's ecosystem: its templates, agencies and native e-commerce connectors.

Using both? Don't run the same keyword on the same post in both tools, or one commenter could get two DMs. For pricing and a feature-by-feature comparison, see CommentKeyword vs ManyChat and ManyChat alternative for Instagram comment-to-DM.

Frequently asked questions

Does ManyChat have an MCP server?

As of October 2026, ManyChat doesn't offer an official MCP server or a Claude/ChatGPT connector. Third-party tools such as Zapier MCP and Pipedream, and community servers on GitHub, wrap ManyChat's API as MCP tools.

Can you connect ManyChat to Claude?

Yes, in two limited ways. Through a third-party MCP connector, Claude can manage contacts, tags and fields, send messages and trigger existing flows. Inside ManyChat, a flow can call Claude with your own Anthropic API key to write replies. Neither lets Claude create or edit your ManyChat automations.

Can Claude or ChatGPT create ManyChat automations?

Not through ManyChat's API. As of October 2026, it has no endpoint to create flows, keyword triggers or Instagram comment automations, so no MCP server, official or third-party, can create them. They're built in ManyChat's editor.

Can the ManyChat API create flows or keyword triggers?

No. The API can list flows and trigger an existing one for a contact (sendFlow), but it can't create, edit or delete flows, triggers or comment automations.

Is ManyChat's Claude integration an MCP?

No. It lets a ManyChat flow send a prompt to Claude and use the answer in the conversation. It runs inside ManyChat. An MCP works the other way round: your AI assistant uses tools in another app.

Is there a ManyChat MCP URL I can add to claude.ai or ChatGPT?

There's no official one. Some hosted third-party connectors give you a URL, with the limits above. CommentKeyword's MCP server runs on your computer (Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Cursor, Windsurf, Codex); a remote version for claude.ai and ChatGPT is planned. Until then, you can also use CommentKeyword's REST API from your own code or automation tools.

Can I set up Instagram comment-to-DM automations from ChatGPT?

Not inside the ChatGPT app yet. ChatGPT connects to outside tools through remote MCP servers, and CommentKeyword's runs locally today; a remote version is planned, with no date yet. You can use Codex, OpenAI's coding agent, which you sign in to with your ChatGPT account and which runs the MCP server on your computer. We don't suggest building a custom GPT with Actions for this: OpenAI no longer lets personal ChatGPT plans create new GPTs, and it is phasing custom GPTs out (December 11, 2026 for some Enterprise workspaces, with other plans expected to follow).

Can n8n, Zapier or Make create ManyChat comment automations?

No. They use the same ManyChat API, so they can react to events, tag contacts and trigger existing flows, but not create comment-keyword automations.

Can I replace ManyChat with Claude?

For Instagram comment-to-DM, Claude can set up the automations through CommentKeyword's MCP server. CommentKeyword then sends the replies and DMs through Meta's official API, and an optional AI agent can continue the conversation. For WhatsApp, Messenger or complex multi-channel flows, you'd still need a broader platform.

Does it cost extra to use CommentKeyword from Claude?

No. The API and the MCP server are included on every plan, Free too. Free includes 300 automated DMs a month and 3 active keywords; paid plans add more DMs and keywords, plus AI agents.

Does CommentKeyword use Instagram's official API?

Yes. It connects through Meta's official Instagram API and needs an Instagram professional account (Business or Creator). Your AI assistant never logs in to Instagram.
