What is Instagram DM automation?
It is software that sends Instagram direct messages for you when someone performs a trigger action, most often commenting a keyword on a post or Reel. The person gets the link, guide, or answer instantly instead of waiting for you to reply manually.
Is Instagram DM automation allowed?
Yes, when it uses Meta’s official Instagram messaging API and only messages people who interacted with you first. What gets accounts in trouble is unofficial automation: browser bots, password-based tools, and cold DMs. CommentKeyword uses the official API and respects Meta’s rate limits.
Is there a free Instagram DM automation tool?

Do I need a business account to automate Instagram DMs?
You need an Instagram professional account, either Business or Creator. Personal accounts cannot use Instagram’s messaging API. Switching is free and takes about a minute in Instagram’s settings.
Can I automatically DM everyone who comments on my post?
Yes. Set a keyword on the post and everyone whose comment matches receives the DM. On paid plans, an “Other comments” catch-all can also DM people whose comment matches no keyword, at most once per person every 24 hours.
Can automated Instagram DMs include links?
Yes. Links in the DM are clickable, and you can turn on link tracking to see how many people clicked from each keyword.
Can it reply to story replies or DMs automatically?
Not as triggers: CommentKeyword starts automations from comments only. Messages people send you appear in the CommentKeyword inbox, and if they are replying to a conversation an AI agent is handling, the agent answers them.
How fast are the DMs sent?
Usually within seconds of the comment. If a post receives more comments than Meta’s hourly limit allows, the extra DMs are queued and sent as soon as capacity is available.
